The First Peoples Principals of Learning (FPPLs) is a foundation resource teachers use as a way of Indigenizing their lesson and unit plans in an appropriate manner.

The FPPLs have taught me how to create lesson plans with Indigenous points of view, rather than adding Indigenous views after the lesson has been completed. The difference between the two is that throughout the lesson and unit plans, as they are being built, I have learned to constantly reflect on each aspect to ensure they are following my chosen FPPLs for said unit or lesson plan. It aids me in adjusting my curriculum where necessary in ways of focusing on the holistic activities and mindfulness of the rationale of the lesson plans.
